Being a father is something I always dreamed of being! Just growing up and having the bond I do with my dad, I knew I wanted to be on the other side of that relationship one day with my own child. It gives me so much joy and pleasure to watch my daughter Nevaeh grow up, I want her to be the best, and smartest person she can be. This is why everything I do right now, is all for her future. Being a parent is honestly the most rewarding, and satisfying responsibility a human can experience! Her being born has showed me how to love and care deeper for a living being, more than I thought I had the ability too! It has made me grow as a person, and I love the person I’ve become because of her!
I guess if you’re still reading, you’re interested in our story. So, Nevaeh was born November 24, 2015. The mother and I wasn’t sure what we were going to do back when we found out she was pregnant. We were both young and unsure of our future together. After awhile, we decided we weren’t right for each other, and I now raise Nevaeh as a single father.
Our family has had our fair share of struggles, and recently with the COVID-19 pandemic, after being at home for so long, it gave us even more time to reflect on the true meaning of family, and we all got to spend more time helping Nevaeh learn and grow. So my father and I decided to write a song for her, so she knew just how much we cared about her. My verse in particular, took me about 2-3 weeks to write because I wanted to say the right things. It’s hard to sum up all the emotions of being a father, and the existence of her life and our bond together, into just a few sentences that rhyme. I didn’t want to mess it up! I wanted each note, each thought, each expression to come through the music as much as possible. I wanted it to be so special, so when she grows up, she can have her own song. That was one of the best gifts I could think to give her right now.
The music was produced by Billboard Award Winner Morgan Matthews. We believe listening to this song will take you back to a time when your own baby girl was just giving you a hug like it was yesterday, and she looked at you like a superhero. As we get older, we realize time is short, and that nothing is more important than bonding, connecting, and building a relationship with our children because they depend on us, and in a way, we depend on them. We realize some people don’t have the best relationship with their father/daughter. But we like to think in some small way, our music can help you forgive, and reconnect with them and start a new. Its never too late to say I’m sorry, and I love you. With that being said, we would like to thank you for reading our story, and your continued support of our musical/life endeavors.
If you want to hear the song, we’re giving it away for free, all you have to do is enter your name and email on our site, and it’ll be automatically sent to you! Here’s a clip of it!
